Sharon started her journey in the therapeutic world after graduating from De Montfort University in 1998 with a BSc (Hons) in Human Psychology.
Sharon secured a post working in the Psychology Department within the Prison Service whilst continuing her education, gaining a Master’s degree in Applied Forensic Psychology from Leicester University; a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from Birmingham University and latterly a Postgraduate Diploma in High Intensity Psychological Therapy from Coventry University.
Sharon started her private practice by working with young offenders, Crime Concern and Police and Police staff. This work included risk assessment, bereavement, post trauma support, relationship therapy, mindfulness and coaching.
More recently, Sharon has worked for the NHS as a CBT therapist and has now decided to return to private practice. She offers an informal and relaxed approach, quickly establishing a useful therapeutic relationship with her clients. Her areas of expertise include: CBT, EMDR, motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy, and post trauma support.
